Preparing your pets before the booming fun.

Fireworks festivities are one of the top times of the year when pets go missing, are injured, and a good time becomes a nightmare!

However, with a solid plan and proper preparations, your pets can go through the night easily or with minimal stress.

Proactive steps to take:

Ensure all pets are wearing identifiable tags with up-to-date info
If not already, microchip your pets. If they are, ensure the chip info is current.
Take a photo of all your pets.
If pets can go outside, ensure the enclosure is secure to prevent escape.
Create a comfy safety zone for pets to go and hide in. Popular places are usually the bathroom or small hallway. These rooms are small, which makes them feel more secure.

During the festivities:

If the fur kids are staying with a professional pet sitter (like us!), please ensure all info about your pets, home, and emergency contacts is current. We can help you plan to make your home safe and comfy during the poppers.
For stay-cationers, leave your pets at home in a safe, escape-proof room or comfy crate during the festivities.
Close the blinds and curtains and turn on the television to help drown out the big booms.
Provide busy treats like peanut butter-filled Kongs.
Be prepared to clean up any accidents!
